Beach Clean Ups

What We Do

Every month we host a fun beach clean up at East Coast Park in order to collect data and make a difference in our society – one plastic piece of trash at a time :)

Who Can Come?

Everyone is invited to come, every beach clean up we have pre-schoolers, elementary and middle school students, high schoolers, and parents and teachers!

Service Hours:

Students can gain up to 2 service hours per beach clean-up for service clubs other than BPI:
Global Issues Network
SAVE
AT Environmental Science Class
Marine Biology Class
Earth Craft Club
Edible Garden City
MS Roots and Shoots
MS Social Justice Club

Why?

Cleaning the beach improves the coastal and ocean ecosystem so that our marine life can stay safe without eating trash. But our efforts go beyond simply cleaning up the beach. We also collect data about our beaches and the types of trash found. Last beach clean up we counted 4,822 plastic/foam pieces! But hopefully, with your help, we can lower this number!
